Microsoft offers buyers of complete PCs or laptops have long been a small Starter Edition's own Office 2010 package. This is primarily limited by that lack all parts of the program other than Word and Excel. But at least these two important parts are functionally limited office.

May be created with no starter Office of contents, citations, footnotes or bibliography, the created documents can not be provided with a password protection, and the Ribbon and the toolbar can not be customized.
Also, advanced data analysis (such as with pivot tables) or setting up of macro functions are not compatible with the Office Starter Edition.
